Donald Trump Unleashes Fury on Nicolle Wallace After Putin Summit Coverage [WATCH]

President Donald Trump reignited his long-running feud with MSNBC, taking direct aim at anchor Nicolle Wallace in a Truth Social post Sunday, calling her “a loser, with poor ratings” and predicting she “will be fired soon,”  as reported by The New York Post.

The President’s criticism followed Wallace’s remarks on his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place in Alaska last week. Wallace, host of MSNBC’s Deadline: White House, opened her program on Friday with harsh commentary directed at Trump.

President Donald Trump delivered a special commencement address to University of Alabama graduates on May 1, 2025.

“Having had the privilege of interviewing Ukrainians, it’s so much to watch our country’s president stand with the person responsible for all that suffering and all that death, it’s heinous,” Wallace said during her broadcast.

She added that Trump “doesn’t give a sh*t about democracy, doesn’t care about our allies, [and] doesn’t care about democratic allies’ sovereignty.”

Her remarks drew a strong reaction from Trump, who responded with a blistering post on Truth Social:
“She is a loser, with bad ratings, who was already thrown off of The View. She will be fired soon! MSNBC IS DEAD!”

The Truth Social exchange began when a user posted an image of Wallace edited with a clown nose, prompting Trump’s sharp response.

Wallace, a former White House communications director under President George W. Bush, has become one of Trump’s most frequent media critics. Trump has previously labeled her a “third-rate lapdog” and mocked her 2015 exit from ABC’s The View.

“She was thrown off The View like a dog, Zero T.V. Personas. Now Wallace is a 3rd rate lapdog for Fake News MSDNC (Concast). Doesn’t have what it takes!” Trump wrote on Twitter in May 2020.

Despite Trump’s attacks on her ratings, Wallace’s Deadline: White House continues to draw over one million viewers daily. On August 8, 2025, Nielsen ratings recorded her 4 p.m. broadcast at 1,063,000 viewers and her 5 p.m. broadcast at 1,034,000 viewers.

That placed her show well ahead of CNN’s competing slot but far behind Fox News, where The Will Cain Show drew 1,953,000 viewers and The Five captured 3,495,000 in the same time periods.

The White House defended the Alaska summit with Putin, saying the meeting laid groundwork for future peace discussions and rejected claims that President Trump had been deferential.

Officials characterized the meeting as part of broader negotiations intended to create progress toward ending the war in Ukraine.

Trump’s latest clash with Wallace adds to his long record of combative exchanges with MSNBC figures, including Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, who were once guests at Mar-a-Lago but later became outspoken critics.

Trump has also pressured the network over late-night host Lawrence O’Donnell, calling for his firing in the past.

As of now, MSNBC has not issued a comment in response to Trump’s post.
