Duchess Sarah-Ferguson cut loose from charity over ‘groveling’ apology letter to Jeffrey Epstein

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, is facing the consequences of being associated with Jeffrey Epstein.

Six charities have publicly severed their ties with Ferguson after The Daily Mail reported on her scandalous email to Epstein. In it, she reportedly apologized for her statement disavowing him following his conviction on child sex charges.

“In the newly published correspondence, Sarah issued a groveling apology to Epstein for publicly disassociating herself from ‘her supreme friend’ when it emerged he had bailed her out financially – and she insisted she had only done so to save her career as a children’s author,” the outlet revealed in an exclusive report.

Following the shocking message, Teenage Cancer Trust, Julia’s House, British Heart Foundation, The Children’s Literacy Charity, Prevent Breast Cancer and the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation have announced they will no longer be associated with Ferguson.

“Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity,” reads a statement from the children’s charity. “We have advised the Duchess of York of this decision and thank her for her past support.”

Natasha Allergy Research Foundation cofounders Nadim and Tanya Ednan-Laperouse wrote that they were “disturbed” to read of the duchess’s decision to apologize to Epstein.

“We were disturbed to read of Sarah, Duchess of York’s, correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein,” they said. “Sarah Ferguson has not been actively involved with the charity for some years. She was a patron but, in the light of the recent revelations, we have taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue to be associated with the charity. We would like to thank her for her kindness and support in the past.”

The British Heart Foundation has also dropped “Fergie.”

“We are grateful for the Duchess’ support for our work and thank her for her past efforts to help us save and improve lives by funding pioneering research into cardiovascular disease.”

“The Duchess of York is no longer a patron of Prevent Breast Cancer. We have advised her of this decision and thank her for her past support,” reads a statement from a Prevent Breast Cancer spokesperson.

Likewise, a spokesperson from the Teenage Cancer Trust spoke to The Daily Mail for their take on the matter.

“We have made the decision to end our relationship with the Duchess of York, and as of today she is no longer a patron of Teenage Cancer Trust. We have communicated this decision to the Duchess. We would like to thank the Duchess of York for her support.”
