Elon Musk Completes DOGE Tenure After Cutting $170 Billion of Waste

Tech supremo Elon Musk has confirmed he’s stepping down from his temporary role in the Trump administration after spearheading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Here are some of his achievements in the role:

• DOGE claims it saved a whopping $170 billion in taxpayer dosh by ripping up contracts, flogging off unused assets, and rooting out fraud. Of course, the usual suspects in the legacy media insist the figure is lower… 
• 47 federal contracts cancelled, with a total ceiling value of $185 million, saving $90 million outright. Highlights include axing a $3.1 million deal to fund a “healthy relationships social media presence.” 
• 470,000 government credit cards frozen across 30 departments. Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster Pat McFadden made a song and dance about freezing taxpayer credit cards in March, though as Guido reported, the civil servants’ spending spree hasn’t stopped…
• Dissolved the Federal Consulting Group within the Department of the Interior, which had brokered costly consulting contracts, such as a $75 million contract for website customer satisfaction survey. Musk also pulled the plug on a $3.3 billion project to build a new facility for the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
• Around 260,000 federal bureaucrats either laid off or pushed into redundancy deals.
• The Department of Energy was stripped of 1,200-2,000 jobs, including at its power grid office. Over at Health and Human Services, 3,600 probationary staff got the boot.
• Musk said DOGE saved over $1 billion by canceling diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) contracts. Cue the usual hand-wringing in the legacy media over that figure…
