Elon Musk reportedly vowed to apologize to President Donald Trump if the president released all of the feds’ Epstein files.
Musk issued the vow after being pressed on social media by prominent businessman and Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) ally James Fishback over having accused the president of being in the Epstein files and having called for his impeachment.
Elon,
Keep tweeting about your “new political party” and Japanese fertility rates all you want.
You owe President Trump a full-throated apology, and every hour you delay, it’ll make an eventual apology less sincere.
You can substantively disagree with the President on policy,… https://t.co/vWFcjzoyCI

“Elon, Keep tweeting about your ‘new political party’ and Japanese fertility rates all you want. You owe President Trump a full-throated apology, and every hour you delay, it’ll make an eventual apology less sincere,” Fishback tweeted early Friday evening.
“You can substantively disagree with the President on policy, but you should not have baselessly and personally attacked him,” he added.
Musk responded shortly thereafter.
“I will apologize profusely as soon as there is a full dump of the Epstein files,” he wrote in a since-deleted post, according to Mediaite.
It’s not clear why he deleted the tweet. But the good news is that Musk also deleted his offending tweets attacking Trump:
Elon has deleted his slanderous tweets about the President of the United States.
Good first step. Next up: full-throated apology to Trump and his family. pic.twitter.com/zDj58lgORV

Fishback isn’t Musk’s only prominent critic. So is Musk’s father, Errol, who told Al Arabiya English on Friday that his son’s feud with the president is “silly” and that the president will ultimately “prevail.”
“I haven’t spoken to him, but I did send him a message, you know, telling him to make sure this fizzles out,” he said. “I think people lash out when they’re under stress. I can only imagine that’s just a silly mistake.”
“This is also nonsense because, you know – nobody’s innocent of anything. It’s just bulls. Elephant bulls or alphas having a go at each other,” he added.

“Trump, of course, will prevail because he has been voted in by the majority of the people in America,” Errol concluded. “I just spent three weeks there — the people are, I would like to say 80 percent, but actually 100 percent behind Trump.”
Even if Musk were to apologize to Trump, there’s no guarantee the president would accept the apology. If fact, some are already betting against them making up — and for good reason.
“I would say the chances [of the two making up] are very, very slim to none,” correspondent Aishah Hasnie reported on Friday while appearing on Fox News’ “America Reports.”
“And that’s, really, quite frankly, coming from the president himself, who apparently is calling just about everyone or getting on the phone with just about everyone except for his old pal Elon Musk,” she added.
“And here’s a direct quote from the president this afternoon. He says, ‘Elon’s totally lost it,’” she concluded.
Listen:
Her stunning report came after Fox News’ Bret Baier reported earlier that the president was “not interested” in talking to Musk.
Meanwhile, as the beef between Trump and Musk continues to simmer, the billionaire entrepreneur has been busy touting a new third party, the so-called American Party.
This comes after Musk polled X users about whether they’d like to see a new party emerge to represent the majority of Americans in the middle.
“The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle! And exactly 80% of people agree This is fate,” Musk tweeted after the poll closed.

Trump for his part has told the media that he believes Musk’s recent outbursts stem from his anger over slashes to electric vehicle incentives that are included in the “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
“Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here. … He had no problem with it,” Trump told reporters. “All of a sudden he had a problem, and he only developed the problem when he found out that we’re going to have to cut the EV mandate, because that’s billions and billions of dollars.”
