House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer said testimony obtained during a recent deposition related to Jeffrey Epstein confirmed payments from several high-profile clients while also adding to sworn statements indicating no financial transactions involving President Donald Trump or members of his family.
Comer provided details about the deposition during remarks following questioning of a witness identified as Mr. Khan.
According to Comer, the deposition had already lasted two hours at the time of his comments and could extend significantly longer.

“First of all, Mr. Khan’s answering every question, thus far, we’ve completed two full hours of depositions. I would say we are possibly at the halfway point. It could could last more than four hours,” Comer said.
During the testimony, Comer said Khan confirmed that Epstein received payments from five individuals or groups who were identified during questioning.
“But he confirmed there were five clients that paid money to Epstein, and that was Les Wexner, Glenn Dubin,, Steven Sinofsky, the Rothschilds and Leon Black,” Comer said.
The House Oversight Committee has already conducted a deposition with Wexner as part of the investigation and is preparing to question Leon Black as the inquiry continues.

“We’ve already deposed Wexner, and we’re going to be deposing Leon black very soon,” Comer said.
Comer also addressed questions about whether the investigation had uncovered any financial dealings between Epstein and Trump or members of the Trump family.
He said Khan testified under oath that he had not witnessed any such transactions.
“Mr. Khan testified under oath that because the Democrats asked this question, that he had never seen any type of transaction to Trump or anyone in his family that makes the fifth witness now that’s testified under oath that they’ve never seen any involvement by Donald Trump or their family,” Comer said.
According to Comer, that list of witnesses includes several figures who have provided sworn testimony during the investigation.
“That includes Khan, Bill Clinton, Wexner, Acosta and bar,” Comer said.
The Epstein investigation has generated significant public interest and media coverage, particularly regarding the identities of individuals connected to Epstein’s financial dealings.
Comer said some media coverage has focused heavily on allegations involving Trump.
“So I know that’s the obsession of a lot of the media with respect to the Epstein investigation,” Comer said.
He said the committee’s investigation is focused on broader questions surrounding Epstein’s activities and the role of government agencies.
“But I will again remind us the investigations about getting the truth to the American people,” Comer said.
Comer said investigators are also examining whether government failures or potential misconduct played a role in allowing Epstein’s activities to continue.
“Trying to figure out how the government failed answer questions we all have,” he said.
Comer said the committee is seeking answers about whether Epstein may have had connections to government agencies.
“Was he an agent?” Comer said.
He added that investigators are also looking into whether there may have been attempts to conceal information related to Epstein.
“Was our government involved in any type of cover up in any way, shape or form?” Comer said.
Comer said the committee’s work is also aimed at identifying policy changes or safeguards that could help prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
“And, you know, finally, what can be done to prevent this from happening to the future,” Comer said.

The House Oversight Committee has continued gathering testimony and conducting interviews as part of its ongoing inquiry into Epstein’s financial network and the circumstances surrounding his operations.
Lawmakers involved in the investigation say the effort is intended to clarify unanswered questions about Epstein’s clients, his financial transactions, and whether government institutions responded appropriately to allegations connected to his activities.
