Eric Swalwell Actually Claims With Straight Face ‘Joe Biden Looks Like An Olympic Athlete’ Compared To Trump

Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwell asserted on Wednesday that former President Joe Biden appeared as if he was “an Olympic athlete” compared to President Donald Trump in terms of “health.”

After images circulated online of Trump’s swollen legs and bruised hand, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters in July that Trump underwent physical examinations and had chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), but is “in excellent health.” Swalwell alleged on “CNN News Central” that Trump was concealing ailments that he has. “As far as his health goes. Joe Biden looks like an Olympic athlete compared to the illnesses that he’s hiding. Donald Trump is a broken man who has broken all of his promises,” Swalwell said. “And we’re all starting to pay for it. And we’re going to be a broken country pretty soon.”

During a June interview on “The Breakfast Club,” radio host Charlamagne tha God repeatedly pressed Swalwell on Biden’s decline, but the congressman did not acknowledge awareness of it and said he personally “didn’t spend much time” privately with the former president.

An April book titled “Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House” reported that Swalwell was worried about Biden’s mental acuity in 2023, according to The Hill. Swalwell and Biden had reportedly talked at a White House picnic, during which the former president did not promptly recognize him, with the congressman needing to provide personal information to jog his memory.

However, Swalwell in March 2024 published an opinion piece for MSNBC condemning special counsel Robert Hur for his February 2024 report finding that Biden had a “poor memory.” The congressman also defended Biden’s mental capacity in the piece.

Biden was also diagnosed with severe prostate cancer in May, according to an announcement by his personal office. Moreover, he reportedly underwent surgery to remove cancerous cells from his forehead, according to multiple reports.

Trump had already become one of the “most accessible” presidents in modern history after Biden had been largely concealed from the media, according to numbers calculated by Politico in May.

Furthermore, Trump’s doctor, United States Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella, asserted in April that the president “exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health” in a memo released by the White House following his annual physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Presidential health records expert Raymond Scalettar subsequently told journalist Mark Halperin on “2WAY Tonight” that Trump’s health report was unprecedentedly comprehensive and expressed agreement with its conclusions.
