ET international has been a ‘great help to my spiritual life’

The first time I knew about Evangelical Times international (ETi) was in 1995 when I was working with COCIN Theological Education By Extension (TEE), COCIN headquarters, Jos, Nigeria. There was a missionary lady named Mrs Maryamu Gula who came to Nigeria to serve with COCIN as a missionary with the Sudan United Mission (SUM) British branch. She used to distribute copies of ETi to pastors in COCIN. The question I had in mind then was how can I get a copy of this paper?

After that time, I did not see the paper again until I moved from COCIN headquarters to work with Africa Christian TextBookS (ACTS) at TCNN Bukuru, Nigeria.

That was when I started seeing the paper again, coming with used books ordered by Revd Dr Sid Garland from Ian Major in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

I contacted Ian Major about the possibilities of getting some secondhand books to help believers, students of theological seminaries, Bible schools, church workers, and pastors. Ian Major started sending the used copies of the paper with used books and Bibles to me.

After that, Ian Major requested that my name be added for subscription to the paper. This is how I started getting 15 copies of the paper every quarter.

This is how I distribute the 15 copies I receive: I keep one copy for myself. Other copies go to my church pastor, my church elders, and other church pastors around my area. I give some copies to my TEE students and some to my co-workers. Four copies go to our school library for students to read. And copies left are distributed to anybody I come across, especially when I go out for village evangelism.

The paper has been a great help to my spiritual life, and it also provides me with news and information of what is  happening in the church, especially the persecution the church is facing.

The copies I usually put in the school library of our ministry school, I was told by the librarian, are enjoyed by the students who read them. It has been of great help to their spiritual lives and gives them up-to-date information on what is happening in the wider church.

Please continue to send me the 15 copies or increase it to 30 or 50. I will be able to distribute them to the Lord’s glory.

Evangelical Times international (ETi) is produced quarterly for those living in developing countries so that they can read a quality Reformed newspaper, with international news, which they might not otherwise afford. It is free of charge to those who receive it. ETi’s printing and mailing is funded by ET, helped by the generosity of its subscribers. ETi consists mainly of doctrinal, devotional, and pastoral articles from recent ET issues, and also international news. It has just 16 pages, for low-cost airmailing, and omits adverts.
