Expect ‘fireworks’ when Trump admin holds a Boston judge accountable for defying the Supreme Court

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller has warned of consequences for a judge who’s reportedly vowed to defy the Supreme Court.

Miller issued the warning while speaking on Fox News’ “Hannity” late Tuesday about the Supreme Court’s decision to allow the Trump administration to deport criminal illegal aliens to countries besides the ones they’re from.

“It allows President Trump, as the law has long said but the courts have long blocked, it allows President Trump to send illegal aliens convicted of rape, murder, homicide, assault, battery, crimes against children to any country in the world that’s willing to accept them,” he said of the ruling.

“So whether that be South Sudan or whether it be Somalia or whether it be Ethiopia, any country in the world that’s willing to accept these monsters, we can get them out of our country and be free of them forever,” he added.

Continuing his remarks, Miller then aimed fire at U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy.

“The only thing I have to share tonight in a little bit of breaking news is that the district court judge in Boston has said he’s going to defy the Supreme Court’s rulings, so expect fireworks tomorrow when we hold that judge accountable for refusing to obey the Supreme Court,” he said.

So, who is this Murphy guy, and what has he done?

According to the Washington Post, last month, he blocked the Trump administration from deporting several criminal aliens to South Sudan, arguing that they couldn’t do that without first giving the illegals a chance to raise concerns of potential persecution and torture in court.

Fast-forward to Monday, when, following the Supreme Court’s decision, Murphy issued a new ruling claiming his order from last month still remains in effect despite the high court’s decision.

“The Court’s May 21, 2025 Order on Remedy remains in full force and effect, notwithstanding today’s stay of the Preliminary Injunction,” he wrote.

He defended his decision by citing the dissent that Supreme Justice Sonia Sotomayor had filed in response to last month’s high court ruling.

In the dissent, she’d claimed that the case wasn’t presented “properly” before the Supreme Court because the Trump administration “has not appealed them or sought a stay pending a forthcoming appeal.”

Critics are now calling for Republicans to either try to impeach and permanently remove Murphy or just ignore his rulings.
