Explosive Back-and-Forth as MTG Challenges Stahl Over Her ‘Accusatory’ Questioning Style [WATCH]

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., sparred at several points with “60 Minutes” host Lesley Stahl during a segment aired Sunday, marking Greene’s first sit-down interview with Stahl since announcing her resignation from Congress last month, as reported by The New York Post.

The exchange centered on Greene’s recent remarks about stepping away from “toxic politics” and Stahl’s challenges to that statement.

Greene had previously told CNN in November, “I would like to say humbly, I‘m sorry for taking part in the toxic politics.”

WASHINGTON, DC – March 22, 2024: U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) speaks to reporters after voting against a government spending bill, and filing a motion to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson.

She continued, “It’s very bad for our country, and it’s been something I’ve thought about a lot, especially since Charlie Kirk was assassinated, is that we, I’m only responsible for myself and my own words and actions, and I am committed, and I’ve been working on this a lot lately to put down the knives in politics.”

Stahl pressed Greene during the Sunday segment, responding, “But you contributed to that. You. You, you were out there pounding, insulting people.”

Greene pushed back, saying Stahl was engaging in the same behavior she claimed to oppose. “You’re accusatory, just like you did just then,” Greene said.

“I know you’re accusing me, but I’m smiling,” Stahl replied.

“You’re accusing me,” Greene repeated. “But we don’t have to accuse one another.”

The two continued to go back and forth, with Greene insisting that Stahl acknowledge her own role in political tensions. Stahl denied Greene’s characterization, saying, “I don’t insult people.”

“You just, you do in the way you question,” Greene responded. “And you are, you’re accusing me right now.”

Fox News Digital reported that it reached out to CBS News for comment following the exchange.

Greene and Stahl previously clashed in April 2023 during a segment that drew national attention.

At the time, Greene maintained her claim that Democrats are the “party of pedophiles,” prompting Stahl to respond, “They are not pedophiles. Why would you say that?”

Greene replied, “Democrats support — even Joe Biden, the president himself — supports children being sexualized and having transgender surgeries. Sexualizing children is what pedophiles do to children.”

“Wow,” Stahl said in response.

Greene announced in November that she would leave Congress on Jan. 5. Her departure surprised many in Washington.

The decision came amid speculation that her relationship with President Donald Trump had deteriorated in recent months, although Greene has not provided details about her decision beyond her public statements.
