At Remembrance Day 2025 we come before God to honour those who served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces, particularly those who gave their lives in past conflicts. With World War II receding further into history and fewer eyewitnesses still among us, we must not only remember those that fought and died in it, but also those who brought the spiritual courage and hope necessary for victory amidst the suffering.
The Soldiers’ and Aviators’ Scripture Readers Association (SASRA) is one such ministry, not bearing arms but bearing the gospel as spiritual welfare, which remains no less essential to warfare than strategy, weapons, and logistics. After 187 years, SASRA continues its mission to spread the saving knowledge of Christ among our Armed Forces.
As we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, Army and Aviator Scripture Reader (ASR) stories remind us that faith, behind the wire and sometimes under fire, is a profound witness to the necessity of spiritual resilience.
