FBI Warned West Coast Police Departments Of Potential Iran Strikes

The FBI warned California police departments of Iran potentially striking the West Coast on Wednesday.

An alert distributed to departments by the FBI stated that the agency had “recently acquired information” that the Islamic Republic of Iran “aspired” to launch an attack on targets in California, ABC News reported Wednesday.

“We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland,” the alert stated, “in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran.”

“We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack,” the alert reportedly added.

The Daily Caller News Foundation was unable to reach the FBI for a comment.

The warning came as the initial joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran began on Feb. 28, according to ABC.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom wrote in an X post that he was “not aware of any imminent threats” but remains “prepared for any emergency” in his state.

Iranian officials have threatened the United States and its allies in the past. Ali Larijani, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary, warned, “beware, lest you be the ones to vanish.”

The X account of deceased Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the initial strikes in Tehran, posted an image of a missile in a lab. The X post stated, “The Zionist regime has made a big mistake, and its consequences will make the regime desperate, by God’s grace.”
