FCC Chairman Brendan Carr hit back at leftists engaged in “projection and distortion” over the Jimmy Kimmel suspension.
It is telling that the left’s reaction to Kimmel’s show being suspended is much stronger than their reaction to the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk. Regardless of whether they agreed with his beliefs, a lost life is objectively more important than having your privilege to host a television show taken away by your boss. Especially when the reason your show was yanked off air was because of your own inflammatory rhetoric.
Despite Disney choosing to lift Kimmel’s suspension and promising his return to air Tuesday night, Sinclair Broadcasting Group and Nexstar are vowing to continue preempting the show’s time slot while negotiations with ABC continue.
Carr took to social media to react to left-wing discourse surrounding the saga, accusing them of having spent “years illegally weaponizing government to silence dissent.”
And there it is.
On Kimmel, the Democrats are engaged in nothing more than Projection and Distortion.
Projection because Democrats are the ones that spent years illegally weaponizing government to silence dissent. And it is Democrats that will do it all again—as they are openly… pic.twitter.com/E3XRIvtBOJ

“And there it is. On Kimmel, the Democrats are engaged in nothing more than Projection and Distortion. Projection because Democrats are the ones that spent years illegally weaponizing government to silence dissent. And it is Democrats that will do it all again—as they are openly telling you today,” he posted on X, sharing a statement from California State Senator Scott Wiener, who wants to “break up” Sinclair over their stance on Kimmel. “Distortion because Democrats want to blame anything other than Disney and their local TV stations for Kimmel’s suspension. Those businesses decided that, in their view, a suspension made sense. The reporting on this is clear. Notably, this is the first time recently that any local TV stations have pushed back on a national programmer like Disney.”
“And that is a good thing because we want empowered local TV stations. After all, local TV stations—not the national programmers—have public interest obligations, and they should be making decisions that in their view meet the needs of their local communities. I walked through all of this in my Concordia remarks yesterday, which are posted below,” he added.

Setting aside the current partisan politics of this…
Where has this guy been during the last several decades of massive media consolidation? And now he cares only about this one specific company’s consolidation of local TV stations that matter less than ever?

Strip there licenses, Carr. NBC vs US is time honored and completely valid. Tell them to take it to cable.
I know you are in the right here.

They act like they murd3red him. He can literally go get another job on a cable network like everyone else. Unless its that his ratings are too low and he can’t be hired. Then he can still go on YouTube or Rumble.
