Senator Bernie Sanders’ recent nationwide “Fighting Oligarchy” tour has come under scrutiny after newly released campaign expenditure reports revealed that his main campaign committee spent more than $220,000 on private jet travel during the first quarter of 2025.

The report, first obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, shows that the group Friends of Bernie Sanders spent a total of $221,723 on private air travel between January and March.

The first payment for private jet services was made just days before Sanders officially launched the tour in February.

The revelations follow a separate report noting that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) flew first class to join Sanders at one of the tour’s recent stops in Las Vegas.

The event, which was promoted as a rally against economic inequality and wealthy elites, drew criticism after both lawmakers were seen traveling in luxury while decrying the lifestyles of billionaires.

At an event in California this week, Sanders continued to deliver sharp criticism of the country’s wealthiest individuals, including Elon Musk.

“We will not accept a rigged economy where working people struggle while billionaires become richer,” Sanders said.

“We have got to create an economy that works for working people, not just Mr. Musk and the billionaire class.”
