Former Runaway Rocker Goes Full MAGA, Destroys Democrats [WATCH]

Cherie Currie, the former frontwoman of the groundbreaking 1970s rock band The Runaways, has made headlines again—this time for her unapologetic embrace of conservative politics and support for President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Currie, who rose to fame alongside bandmates like Joan Jett, is now using her platform to speak out against the Democratic Party.

Her shift away from the political left has been documented on her official X account, where she has posted several strongly worded messages denouncing Democrats and aligning herself with conservative causes.

“F**k the Democratic Party! You clowns. Liars! Users. Destroyers! Mental case, Cowards! We’ve HAD IT with you!” Currie posted on April 24, 2025.

In another post dated April 15, she challenged Democrats directly: “Please tell me ONE THING your party has done to make our country strong, prosperous and peaceful. ONE THING?”

Currie’s transition toward the conservative movement has not come as a surprise to many who have followed her over the last year. In 2024, The Western Journal reported that Currie had renounced the Democratic Party, saying she had “fallen for its lies.”

Once an emblem of punk rebellion in the late 1970s, Currie has explained that the cultural landscape has shifted so dramatically that the anti-establishment ethos she once embodied has been absorbed into the political mainstream left.

She now sees herself as standing against that new establishment.

Currie recently shared her journey in a #WalkAway campaign video—a movement founded by Brandon Straka that encourages people to leave the Democratic Party. “MUST SEE! Rock Star Cherie Currie leaves the Democrats FOREVER,” Straka posted alongside the video on September 12, 2024.

In addition to her online activism, Currie will speak at a conservative event later this month. On April 22, she tweeted, “I am so honored to be a speaker for this march,” attaching a promotional image of the upcoming event.

Currie also acknowledged coverage of her political shift by retweeting a story from The Gateway Pundit with the comment, “Damn straight.”

Her remarks and actions have drawn attention from conservative circles and criticism from the left, but Currie has remained vocal in defending her views and encouraging others to question the political narratives they’re being fed.
