Fox’s Rove, Kurtz Try to Coach Trump—Get Smacked Down Online [WATCH]

President Donald Trump criticized Fox News hosts Howard Kurtz and Karl Rove on Sunday night, following on-air discussions of his first 100 days in office.

The criticism was posted in two separate messages on the president’s Truth Social account, where he expressed frustration over how both men had analyzed his recent decisions and approval ratings.

During a segment on Fox News’ Media Buzz, host Howard Kurtz led a panel discussion about Trump’s early performance in his second term. The segment included panelists Ben Domenech, a known Trump supporter, and Democratic strategist Leslie Marshall.

Among the topics discussed were Trump’s recent firing of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and a series of media headlines reflecting on Trump’s polling numbers.

While Kurtz attempted to defend the president’s record, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the way the defense was presented, claiming that Kurtz’s coverage included too many negative media clips from outlets like CNN and MSNBC.

“It is time for Howie Kurtz to retire,” Trump wrote.

“Every Woke Anchor in the Business, people that no one watched from CNN, MSDNC and others are plastered all over his show with all really negative and fake statements and then I am weakly ‘defended’ by Howie and his group (although Ben Domenech has been strong!).”

Trump continued, “The case Howie makes for me is so pathetic that it would be a lot better if he didn’t say anything.”

Kurtz responded to the president’s remarks later in the day with a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Lotta trolls out today,” Kurtz wrote. “I’ve known President Trump for 35 years and if I hated him, he wouldn’t keep giving me interviews. Some people [are] not interested in fairness.”

Later Sunday evening, Trump again took to Truth Social after watching Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy.

That program featured former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove, who commented on Trump’s current poll numbers and suggested ways the administration could improve its standing with voters.

Rove said during the segment, “He’s got to be focused on those two things, I think, that people wanted, which was a strong and prosperous economy and inflation being wiped up.”

Rove also mentioned voter concerns regarding the rising cost of gasoline and recent tariff announcements.

Trump rejected the advice, writing, “I don’t need Karl Rove of Fox News to tell me what to do. The guy’s a total Loser who’s been wrong about almost everything.”

Rove has been a frequent critic of Trump’s political strategy, and the two have clashed publicly over the years. Sunday’s comments marked the latest in a long line of disagreements between the president and the former Bush White House official.

The tension highlights a continuing divide between the Trump administration and some figures within the legacy conservative media ecosystem, even as the president remains a prominent presence across cable news coverage.

Fox News has not issued a response to the president’s remarks as of Monday morning.
