Gavin Newsom’s Wife Is Going to be a Real Problem for Him: Scott Jennings [WATCH]

Political commentator Scott Jennings criticized remarks made by Jennifer Siebel Newsom following an interview with Jen Psaki, focusing on statements about a family trip through Southern states and how history is taught to children.

The discussion stems from an interview in which Siebel Newsom described taking her four children on a trip through Alabama and other Southern states to expose them to aspects of American history related to racism, sexism, and bullying.

Psaki asked Siebel Newsom about the purpose of the trip and why she chose those locations.

“You took your four kids on this trip. You’re here in Alabama now. Why was it important to you to take them on this trip to red states and learn about the history in our country?” Psaki said.

Siebel Newsom responded by explaining that she believes children do not always receive a full understanding of history through traditional education and that the trip was intended to broaden their perspective.

“That’s a great question. Well, I don’t think, or I know for a fact, that we don’t get all of this history in our schools, and it’s part of you know, enlivening them, building their curiosity, expanding their hearts, their empathy, so that they themselves can be the change they wish to see in the world, and recognize that, you know, we have work to do and that we have healing to do, and so that they can be, you know, use their voices to stand up and speak out when they see pain and suffering and bullying and racism and misogyny around them,” Siebel Newsom said.

Psaki followed up by asking whether the goal was for the children to directly witness these issues.

“You want them to see it so that they know?” Psaki asked.

“I do. I’m the truth seeker, and they need to know the truth,” Siebel Newsom responded.

Jennings reacted to the interview by questioning the framing of the trip and the implications of suggesting that certain social issues are tied to specific regions of the country. He also said the comments could have broader political implications.

“Gavin Newsom’s wife, I have a feeling we’re going to be saying this a lot. By the way, Gavin Newsom’s wife is back in the news. Some recently surfaced audio from our friends on the internet. She said they recently took a trip to red states in the South so they could teach their kids about racism and sexism and bullying. Because, you know that doesn’t happen in blue states. It only happens in red states in the South,” Jennings said.

Jennings also criticized what he described as a lack of awareness in how the comments might be received.

“This lady, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, is going to be a real problem for poor old Gavin. I’m telling you right now, we’ve now featured her comments a couple of times on the show. And the condescension towards everyone else in America is so thick. The idea we need to take our kids to Alabama, it’s the only way they’ll ever learn about racism. These people, they have no and the thing is, they have no idea how they sound. There’s no self awareness, absolutely nothing,” Jennings said.

He further added criticism directed at broader political policies, referencing issues related to crime and immigration.

“My advice for Jennifer Newsom and Gavin and the rest of these Democrats is look inwards to these blue states where illegal immigrants are murdering American citizens because of your open border policies,” Jennings said.
