‘Get Him The Heck Out’: Woman Wants To Use Powerball Winnings To Fire Alabama’s Head Coach

A woman who has little love for University of Alabama head football Coach Kalen DeBoer says she knows fate probably doesn’t favor her winning tonight’s $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot.

But if Susie Conerly of Alabama were to somehow prevail against astronomical odds and win all of that money then she plans to buy out DeBoer’s contract.

Susie Conerly said as much to the Huntsville-based WHNT.

“I tell you exactly what I’d do with the first $70 million,” Conerly said. (RELATED: Pre-Game Video Explains Why Alabama Got Pummeled Into Ground By Florida State)

“I’d pay off Kalen DeBoer and get him the heck out of the University of Alabama, and then I’d take whatever else it took to get rid of the A.D. [assistant director].”

DeBoer, who is having a less than stellar season, has a $70 million buyout arrangement with the school.

Powerball officials announced Friday that they will increase the winnings for Saturday’s jackpot from $1.7 billion to $1.8 billion.

“Saturday’s Powerball jackpot now ranks as the second-largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history, only behind the world record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in California on Nov. 7, 2022,” according to the Powerball website.

Powerball officials are scheduled to broadcast their drawing live at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee, Fla.

If someone wins the Powerball jackpot then they can choose between an annuitized prize estimated at $1.80 billion or a lump sum payment estimated at $826.4 million. Both prize options are before taxes kick in.

As reported Thursday, after finishing the 2024 campaign with a 9-4 record, the Crimson Tide fanbase had hoped that DeBoer would lead the team to triumph. Instead, Alabama got popped by Florida State, 31-17. Fans are irate.

Conerly — assuming she hits the jackpot — said she plans to also give to her church.

“I don’t know how much I’d have after paying my taxes,” Conerly said.

“I know I won’t win. I just do it for the fun. I just hope I can win some scratch offs.”
