Count me in! Count me in! COUNT. ME. IN.
Science, money, performance-enhancing drugs (PED) … a young company has hopes of infusing those three into an Olympics-style event that will be holding the first competition in Las Vegas. The event is scheduled for May 2026.
Enhanced Games made the announcement Wednesday that they will be hosting their first annual competition one year from now. The event will allow athletes to use performance-enhancing drugs such as steroids and any other PEDs that are normally banned in sports but usually legal for the public to possess. The event’s organizers say they want to get rid of the taboo when it comes to using PEDs and plan on promoting safe ways of pushing the performance of human beings. “We are here to move humanity forward,” said Enhanced Games founder and President Aron D’Souza, per ESPN. “… The old rules didn’t just hold back athletes, they held back humanity.”
Massive amounts of money are being offered by Enhanced Games to athletes who will most likely not be allowed to participate in other events because of PED-use. In total, the company is putting up a $500,000 purse for each contest, with $250,000 being rewarded to the first-place individual. Appearance fees will also be handed out by Enhanced Games to competitors and athletes who break records will be issued bonuses.
