Giants, Cowboys See Scuffle, Ejection On Last Day Of Regular Season

As it usually does, it got heated Sunday between the Giants and Cowboys.

Shortly after New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart threw a touchdown pass to his running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. at the start of the third quarter Sunday, a scuffle broke out involving pushes and punches between members of the Dallas defense and the New York offense.

The exact trigger for the scuffle remains unknown, but Cowboys rookie defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku and Giants guard Greg Van Roten found themselves in the middle of the chaos. Ezeiruaku clutched Van Roten’s facemask, prompting players from both sides to cluster around and exchange a little violence. Ezeiruaku received an ejection from the contest after yanking the helmet completely off Van Roten’s head.

Earlier in the matchup, Ezeiruaku had contributed to a sack. He concludes his first NFL season with 40 total tackles and a pair of sacks.

During the altercation, Dallas defensive tackle Quinnen Williams also picked up a penalty, though the Giants chose to decline it.

At first, you want to make this a big deal. After all, it’s a skirmish in one of the greatest rivalries the National Football League has ever seen.
