The Global March to Gaza isn’t exactly going to plan, with participants being held in Egypt and not allowed to continue their performative production.
The March, being marketed as a “global march for justice,” aims to “be in Rafah on June 15th as a united coalition stands against the ongoing suffering of Palestinians.” Unfortunately, it looks like they will be missing their deadline as a slew of videos on X indicates that marchers are being held in Egypt. Some report that their passports have been taken, while others claim that local police have “beaten people.”
Take a look:
One of the organizers of the ‘March to Gaza’ says Egyptian authorities seized their passports and “violently dragged” them onto buses.
“This is an emergency. We have just been violently dragged into the buses.”
She also claims the Egyptian authorities had “beaten people.” pic.twitter.com/VEi3XE5W3P

Passports have been confiscated. People are being held in the heat.
You have one option: leave the country, and we’ll return your passport.
Urgently contact embassies of the present delegations. #Cairo #MarchToGaza #GlobalMarchToGaza

An update on #GlobalMarchToGaza – myself and many others including Canadians are being held up at a checkpoint between Cairo and Ismailia. Everyone’s passport has been taken. We have been told that no one is allowed to cross this checkpoint unless if they are Egyptian. People are… pic.twitter.com/OGk6zU3WU7

According to the official Global March to Gaza X account, some of the marchers have even been “forcibly deported” back to their country of origin:
Dutch nationals scheduled to join the Global March to Gaza were detained and interrogated by Egyptian authorities — then forcibly deported back to the Netherlands.
This move highlights Egypt’s complicity in the ongoing siege and genocide in Gaza. pic.twitter.com/SoIQNMc7qO

X users shared very little sympathy for the group and their current plight:
Pure performance for cheap virtue points.

Idiots. Just plain idiots.

This is the face of someone confronting reality for the first time, leftists seldom realize the disparity between real life and their imagined version of it.
