Golf’s Biggest Prick Rory McIlroy Disgustingly Gets Award Named After Him — But There’s A Silver Lining

Y’all know how much I hate Rory McIlroy, and here’s another chapter for you.

I give the guy this. He’s definitely a superstar. He’s been the No. 1 player in the world before, he’s racked up $207 million in winnings (a lot more money than I’ll ever have), and he finally got over the hump to win the grand slam. Well, he just got another accolade he can now throw on the table: having an award named after him.

It has been announced by the DP World Tour that they have created the Rory McIlroy Award, which will be rewarded to the individual who tallies the highest Race to Dubai points in the four major championships each year. Due to McIlroy sealing the deal with the career grand slam after winning the 2025 Masters, and having a total of 20 wins in his career on the DP World Tour, it makes sense why they made the decision — despite him being golf’s biggest prick.

I’m not too mad about it though, because there’s a silver lining. McIlroy can’t actually win the award himself due to being ineligible. And honestly, I’ll take it. Yeah, it might be named after him, but at least we don’t have to deal with the scenario where I have to write some dumb headline like, “Rory McIlroy Wins Rory McIlroy Award.”

Yeah, screw that. I already can’t stand the guy. I don’t even want to imagine going through that kind of hell.

The first Rory McIlroy Award will be handed out at the 2026 Open Championship in England.
