Greg Gutfeld Appearance Pushes Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show to Highest Viewership This Year [WATCH]

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld’s first appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon delivered the program’s largest audience of 2025, according to Nielsen Media Research, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The episode aired last Thursday and drew significant viewership increases for the late-night program, which has struggled to match ratings from previous years.

Gutfeld, host of the late-night program Gutfeld! on Fox News Channel, joined Fallon from Studio 6B at Rockefeller Center, located near Fox News Media’s headquarters in New York City.

His segment generated strong interest among viewers, many of whom tuned in specifically for his appearance.

Nielsen’s data shows the episode attracted 1.7 million total viewers, a 57% increase over the show’s 2025 year-to-date average of 1.1 million viewers. This makes it the most-watched episode of The Tonight Show so far this year.

The episode also featured the Jonas Brothers as musical guests, but it was Gutfeld’s interview that drew the most online attention.

By Tuesday afternoon, the official Tonight Show YouTube channel’s clip of his appearance had accumulated nearly 1 million views, the highest of any interview posted to the channel in nearly a month.

In the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25–54, the episode saw 294,000 viewers, representing a 13% increase from the program’s 2025 average.

The spike in both total viewership and key demographic ratings marked a notable shift for the NBC late-night franchise, which has faced declining numbers in recent years.

Industry observers note that this type of ratings jump could influence future booking decisions for late-night programs, particularly as audiences have become more fragmented and politically divided.

Gutfeld’s own late-night program on Fox News has consistently ranked as one of the most-watched shows in its time slot, often outperforming competitors on broadcast and cable networks.

While Fallon’s Tonight Show generally hosts entertainment and celebrity guests, Gutfeld’s appearance marked one of the few times a right-leaning media figure has been featured prominently on the show in recent years.

The ratings outcome may prompt other late-night hosts and producers to reconsider their guest lineups in order to draw in broader audiences.
