Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld said Thursday on “The Five” that “douche” Democrat California Sen. Alex Padilla was lucky the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) didn’t flatten him.
Security at DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s press conference removed Padilla Thursday after he tried to shout questions at her before identifying himself as a lawmaker. While discussing how Padilla had no pin and has been described as forcefully lunging at Noem, guest host Emily Compagno asked Gutfeld if he would describe the senator’s move as a “stunt.”
“Do we have to keep reminding Democrats that Trump was nearly killed 11 months ago? It was a fraction of an inch away from death. They still don’t take that seriously,” Gutfeld said. “They spent more time on Elon Musk’s salute. Do you remember that?”
“So this douche thinks he can plow in after his party spent, I don’t know, how many years demonizing Trump and, by extension, supporters and his cabinet. You don’t know what security is gonna do. He was lucky he wasn’t flattened,” Gutfeld added. “If they’d acted differently, who knows what would have happened?”
Noem held a press conference Thursday to discuss the riots occurring in Los Angeles before the lawmaker began shouting a question at the secretary. Quickly after speaking out, security rushed to Padilla, telling him to put his hands up. (RELATED: How Well-Funded, Organized Leftists Helped Jumpstart LA Riots)

After security pushed Padilla out of the conference room, the senator was told to lie on his stomach as police handcuffed him.
Gutfeld went on to state how Padilla is not well-known enough to have been immediately recognized.
“I don’t know who that guy is. Maybe they didn’t know who that guy was. If they didn’t act correctly, they could have lost their jobs. But Padilla shows why you need order and grownups,” Gutfeld said. “This is a microcosm. Some guy burst into a presser shouting, expects to be treated preferentially. He expected his invasion to be allowed.”
“What does that sound like? Their policy with illegal criminals. He just represented that. You will see that video more than you will see the riots that the media denies,” Gutfeld said. “By the way, whatever he was saying, Gavin Newsom tweets, ‘If you handcuff a U.S. Senator, what will they do to like citizens?’ Dude, I would assume the same thing because, according to you idiots, no one is above the law!”
Protests and riots broke out in the downtown area of Los Angeles on Friday after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted raids throughout the city.
Due to looting, burning cars, and other vandalism occurring after Friday, President Donald Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard members to head into the city Sunday and 700 Marines by Monday.
California, however, has since attempted to block the Trump administration’s push to use the National Guard and Marines, suing the administration. By Tuesday, Clinton-appointed U.S. District Judge Charles R. Breyer refused the state’s block, requesting a hearing be held Thursday instead.
