Pushback on military involvement for immigration enforcement was met with a reality check as an illegal alien was arrested for allegedly offering big bucks to murder agents.
Earlier in October, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) acting Director Todd Lyons had confirmed an “uptick” in bounties on officers being offered by gangs and cartels. Now, as open border radicals like Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) declared “ICE-free zones” while decrying President Donald Trump’s use of the National Guard to restore order, DHS announced the arrest of an illegal alien who’d allegedly posted a $10,000 bounty for the murder of ICE agents.
Friday, the Department of Homeland Security posted to X, “Eduardo Aguilar, the illegal alien who offered $10,000 bounties on TikTok for the murder of our brave ICE agents, has been ARRESTED in Dallas, TX.”
“We are thankful this criminal who had a firearm in his possession was arrested before he could kill one of our law enforcement officers,” continued the post, sharing the 23-year-old’s mugshot. “The Trump administration will not back down from these. threats, and every criminal, terrorist, and illegal alien will face American justice.”

According to the DHS press release, Aguilar had allegedly called “10 dudes in Dallas with determination who aren’t afraid … ” with an offer for “10K for each ICE agent” in an Oct. 9 TikTok post in Spanish.
Weeks earlier, a Dallas ICE facility had been the target of a lethal attack when a perpetrator suspected of hatred for the agency had fired upon the facility, fatally striking two detainees before he reportedly took his own life.
That attack came amid reports of a 1000% increase in violence against ICE agents, including repeated instances of vehicles blocking in officials during immigration enforcement operations.
Commenting on the arrest of Aguilar, said to have illegaly entered the United States in 2018 as an “unaccompanied minor” before being issued a final order of removal in 2019 by a judge, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said, “Thanks to the quick work of law enforcement, this illegal alien who was offering $10,000 cash bounties for the murder of ICE law enforcement is in custody and facing federal charges. We are thankful this illegal alien who had a firearm in his possession was arrested before he could kill one of our law enforcement officers.”
“Our agents are facing ambushes, terrorist attacks, and death threats, all because they dare to enforce the laws passed by Congress,” she added as the suspect, said to have illegally been in possession of a 9mm handgun at the time of his arrest, faces up to five years in federal prison if convicted.
Days before Aguilar’s arrest, it had been reported that 37-year-old Juan Espinoza Martinez, a high-ranking member of the Latin Kings, had been similarly arrested for offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who would eliminate U.S. Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Gregory Bovino.
