A gunman stormed a Park Avenue skyscraper in New York City Monday, killing at least one person and wounding at least six people in a shootout, according to multiple reports.
The active shooter, who reportedly wore body armor, forced his way into the skyscraper which reportedly housed the headquarters for the National Football League (NFL) and Blackstone, according to the New York Post. The gunman was later found dead on the 33rd floor of the building, the Post reported.

The New York Police Department said via a Monday evening post on X that the shooter has been neutralized.
“At this time, the scene has been contained and the lone shooter has been neutralized,” Police Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch said.
The wounded officer was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, according to ABC7 New York, while at least one civilian casualty was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
Multiple media outlets reported the officer and multiple civilians died, but the NYPD has not officially confirmed the number of fatalities and wounded.
