Imagine randomly getting hit with a hammerhead shark … hey, it happens.
That’s exactly what happened to one man during an afternoon game of disc golf. Yes, the man literally got smacked by a small hammerhead shark.
According to Garden & Gun, some guy named Jonathan Marlowe was hanging out with some friends while at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina’s Splinter City Disc Golf Course earlier in June. At one point during the visit, He looked up and happened to see an osprey flying around above the 11th hole of the course. “It’s not uncommon to see an osprey carrying something, but you take note because it’s still really cool to see,” Marlowe said.
It’s common to see ospreys grab fish out of the water using their talons, so this bird was no exception. With that being said, this particular osprey ended up dropping the fish just for it to hit Marlowe, and come to find out, it was a … hammerhead shark?
Yeah, a small one, but a hammerhead shark regardless.

Nooooo! I just read more of the Garden & Gun article and realized that the hammerhead shark died! That’s not how I wanted to end this blog! I mean, yeah, it’s not that surprising considering it was picked up by a bird out of water and then dropped to the ground, but …
Who the hell wants to write about a dead shark?!
