Hamas Leader Killed In Airstrike

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the elimination of Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, a senior Hamas military leader and one of the founders of its armed wing.

Issa led Hamas’ force build-up, training, and was a key planner of the Oct. 7 massacre, which resulted in significant Israeli casualties, according to the IDF. (RELATED: Israeli Forces Rescue Four Hostages From Gaza, IDF Says)

As head of combat support, Issa advanced Hamas’ aerial and naval attacks against Israeli targets. He was also pivotal in rebuilding Hamas’ organizational systems that were damaged over recent months.

Issa co-founded the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades’ military academy, where he trained thousands of terrorists and helped shape the military wing’s structure, according to the Jerusalem Post.

He arrived in Gaza in 2005 from Syria and was reportedly with his wife and grandson during the strike.

Issa’s death comes just days after the IDF and Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) claimed to have killed Asaad Abu Sharia, head of the Mujahideen Brigades — a brutal Palestinian jihadist group responsible for the kidnappings and murders of Hamas hostages captured on Oct. 7. Abu Sharia was killed in a joint operation in Gaza City on Saturday.

“The IDF and Israel Security Agency will continue to locate and eliminate all terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre,” the IDF said.

This targeted strike is part of Israel’s ongoing campaign to dismantle Hamas’ leadership and prevent further attacks.
