Hegseth STOMPS all over Dem Rep’s self-righteous question. She may need some time to recover!

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dropped a truth bomb on Democratic Rep. Betty McCollum, and she may need some time to recover.

Hegseth sat before the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee to defend President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy Marines to Los Angeles, and naturally, the Democrats on the committee took up an oppositional stance.  McCollum even tried to use her shared history with Hegseth to explain why such action is utterly unnecessary. Unfortunately for the representative, Hegseth wasn’t in the mood to play that game.

Watch:

“Mr. Secretary, we’re both from Minnesota. I was in the Twin Cities during the riots that followed the murder of George Floyd. Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets for days. Governor [Tim] Walz made the decision to call up the Minnesota National Guard. At no point did we need, the citizens of Minnesota request, the Marines to be deployed,” she said, claiming that “state and local law enforcement” had the situation under control with the assistance of the guard.

Hegseth seemed to remember that time period a little differently.

“You are right. We are both originally from Minnesota. Which is why I recall 2020 quite well, when Governor Walz abandoned a police precinct and allowed it to be burned to the ground. And also allowed five days of chaos to occur inside the streets of Minneapolis!” he said, as McCollum attempted to interrupt him.
