After all the hype, all the commercials, all the talk … he deserves it.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning, who is most likely going to be the No. 1 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, led his Longhorns in the charge on the road Saturday against Ohio State. And though there was an incredible amount of hype about this game, and about Arch himself, both failed to deliver in an overall boring contest and not-so-good showing from Manning.
The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, Arch tallied only 38 passing yards going into the fourth quarter, and when the game was over, he only completed 17 of his 30 throws. It was a dismal game for Arch and the Longhorns in a 14-7 defeat. (RELATED: Ric Flair Cooks ESPN’s Paul Finebaum In Doozy Of Rant Following Ohio State Win Over Texas)
When it comes to expectations, the ones around Arch are out of this world, and understandably so. Not only is he a Manning, but when he got the chance to play in the 2024 season (amid calls for him to play over then-QB Quinn Ewers), he was impressive.
When we got to Saturday, however, it was a completely different story. And social media absolutely let Arch have it.
