The Friday night lights were spicy this week!
An ugly scene popped off during a high school football game, and the whole thing was captured on video.
When it comes to sports and any competition for that matter, it’s not uncommon for someone to crashout when the heat is cranked up. Playing football and baseball when I was younger, and here as a journalist/blogger and fan, yeah, I’ve seen a lot. But sometimes people, particularly athletes, cross the line. And that’s exactly what happened here.
In Friday’s night’s action, one of the games in the Pittsburgh area saw a game between Elizabeth Forward High School and Baldwin High School. For the latter in particular, it’s been a rough season for them, not having a single win going into Friday’s game, according to MaxPreps. And nothing changed either after they were blown out, 57-0, by the Warriors. With this being the case, I’m going to go ahead and take a guess that we were dealing with a frustrated Anthony Petro, the player from Baldwin who smacked his opponent.
The Highlanders were waaaayyyyy back in their own territory, and during a play, Petro got mixed up with a defensive back from Elizabeth Forward. Needless to say, Petro wasn’t a fan, snatching the facemask of the defender and slinging him to the field. He was so aggressive that he ended up taking off his opponent’s helmet.
Now obviously that’s bad in itself, but things got even worse after Petro came back and smacked the fire out of the Elizabeth Forward player, doing so while he was wearing no head protection.
It’s a wild scene, and one that you can check out here.

Absolute nonsense … I say suspend him for the rest of the season.
