High School Football Team Wins Florida State Championship In Highlight That Will Be Played For Years

This is definitely one of those plays that you will see years down the road.

For a Hail Mary to succeed, something extraordinary almost always has to unfold. But describing the events in this Florida high school state championship game as merely “extraordinary” just isn’t enough.

In the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 7A state championship game Saturday night, Lake Mary faced off against Vero Beach. With fewer than 10 seconds remaining, Lake Mary quarterback Noah Grubbs launched a desperate pass that fell short of the end zone. Wide receiver Barrett Schultz managed to secure the tipped ball, only to be instantly swarmed by a cluster of defenders. That’s when the truly chaotic element erupted.

Lake Mary running back Tavarius Brundidge Jr. showed remarkable awareness, snatching the ball from Schultz and powering into the end zone — dragging a defender along with him — to secure the game-winning, championship-clinching touchdown.

The game’s broadcasters perfectly encapsulated the sheer madness of the scene.
