How rich do you have to be to just randomly drop $13 million on a sports card?
An autographed sports collectible card centered around NBA legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant sold Saturday night for an unbelievable $12.932 million, which smashed the record for the highest amount paid for a card in the sports realm.
Numbered 1-of-1, the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs Jordan & Bryant card eclipsed the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card, which went for $12.6 million in Aug. 2022. The Jordan and Bryant card was purchased through Heritage Auctions, with the identity of the buyer not being revealed. In terms of overall sports collectables, the Jordan and Bryant card is the second-most expensive, with Babe Ruth’s 1932 World Series “called shot” jersey holding the all-time record of $24.12 million, which sold in 2024.
Chris Ivy, the director of sports auctions for Heritage, labeled the card as a “holy grail.”
“It’s the pinnacle as far as modern card collectors are concerned, and this is the only time there’s been Jordan and Kobe autographed Logomans,” said Ivy, per ESPN. “Another one can’t be created. It’s always been looked at by modern basketball collectors as a holy grail.”

Again, I have to ask, how rich do you have to be to just randomly drop $13 million on a sports card?
