Border Czar Tom Homan said he is satisfied with the progress of federal operations targeting sanctuary cities and confirmed that the effort will expand across the country as additional agents are deployed under recently approved legislation.
Speaking about the ongoing enforcement actions, Homan said the developments should not surprise the public and pointed to earlier commitments he made regarding sanctuary jurisdictions.
“First of all, the operation, yeah, I’m extremely happy, and this just come as no surprise to the American people,” Homan said.
“You and I spoke months ago, I made a promise that we will flood the zone of every sanctuary city in this country, bringing 1000’s of more agents, 10,000 more agents because of the Big, Beautiful bill.”
Homan said Minneapolis is currently a priority due to significant fraud uncovered in the area, describing the situation as a key reason for the focused enforcement activity there.
“Why Minneapolis? Why are they being prioritized for now because billions of dollar fraud has been uncovered,” he said.

He pushed back against claims from Minnesota officials that they will resist the federal presence, making clear that federal leadership remains committed to the operation.
“Tim Walz says he’s not going anywhere. Well, either am I? Either is President Trump, either is Pam Bondi, either is Chris, you know,” Homan said.
Homan indicated that Minneapolis is only the beginning and suggested similar findings could emerge in other states as the operation expands.
“I actually think Minneapolis is the tip of the iceberg,” he said.
“I think we’re going to find a hell of a lot more in Illinois, New York, California, we’ll see.”
He warned that the scale of enforcement will increase nationwide and said critics should prepare for broader action.
“But that show is going on the road, so if the Democrats are having a fit now, you better get counseling, because it’s about to get a hell of a lot bigger throughout this nation,” Homan said.
Homan emphasized that the enforcement effort aligns with President Donald Trump’s border and public safety agenda and is being carried out nationwide.
“But this operation will go nationwide, we’re going to keep our promise, and because President Trump is sitting in the Oval Office, every American can put their head on the pillow tonight, knowing the Border Patrol is on that border,” he said.
He credited Border Patrol, ICE, and FBI agents for maintaining constant operations aimed at stopping threats and removing dangerous individuals.
“ICE agents and FBI agents are working 24/7 365, every hour of every day, taking public safety threats and national security threats off our streets,” Homan said.
Homan concluded by saying the enforcement strategy reflects a broader effort to fulfill campaign promises and improve safety across the country.
“So we’re doing exactly in Minnesota, what we’ll do nationwide,” he said.
“We’re keeping President Trump’s promise to American people to make this country safe again, one city at a time, one criminal alien at a time.”
