Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk, shared a series of emotional images Saturday showing her final moments beside her husband’s open casket.
Erika, 36, is seen weeping as she clasps her husband’s hand and whispers, “I love you,” in the photos and videos posted on Instagram. She repeated the words as she leaned over the casket, adding, “I know, I miss you so much.”
“They have no idea what they just ignited within this wife,” she wrote in the caption. “If they thought my husband’s mission was big now.. you have no idea.” She added, “You. All of you. Will never. Ever. Forget my husband. I’ll make sure of it.”

The post, which quickly drew millions of likes before comments were disabled, included 12 images and clips. One showed the Kirk family together in front of red sandstone formations, with Charlie smiling directly into the camera. Others depicted Erika draped across the casket, clutching her husband’s yellowed hands, and giving him final embraces. Another clip showed pallbearers carrying the casket to a hearse before it was flown on Air Force Two to Arizona. Erika was also seen being comforted by Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha, outside the service. “The world is evil,” she wrote in one of her captions. “The sound of this widow weeping echos throughout this world like a battle cry.”
Charlie Kirk’s death followed his assassination during a campus event earlier this week, just weeks after the couple marked the seventh anniversary of their first date. The couple married in 2021 and have two young children, ages three and one.
