ICE Sets Illegal Alien Arrests Records on Back-to-Back Days as Crackdown Expands

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) set back-to-back daily arrest records this week, as immigration enforcement efforts under the Trump administration intensify following a series of new policy shifts.

According to ICE sources cited by Fox News, agents arrested 2,267 individuals on Tuesday, only to surpass that figure with 2,368 arrests the following day.

The combined total of 4,635 arrests in just 48 hours marks one of the most aggressive enforcement pushes in recent agency history.

Officials attribute the increase to a rise in worksite enforcement operations, immigration court apprehensions, and the use of collateral arrests — where individuals who are not the initial targets are taken into custody if found with a suspect during enforcement actions.

A senior ICE official told Fox News that the pace of arrests could increase dramatically if Congress passes the administration’s reconciliation bill.

The proposed legislation includes funding for 10,000 additional ICE agents and tens of thousands more detention beds.

“If that bill passes, numbers will be supercharged and shoot through the roof,” the source said.

The surge in enforcement coincides with a broader shift away from Biden-era immigration policy.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem recently signed off on additional border wall waivers, allowing for expanded construction efforts in Arizona and New Mexico.

The waivers were issued under expedited authority granted by the Secure Fence Act.

In a separate move, President Donald Trump issued a travel ban this week targeting multiple countries in the wake of the anti-Semitic terror attack in Boulder, Colorado.

Authorities revealed that the suspect had overstayed his visa, renewing calls for stronger interior enforcement and visa overstay tracking.

According to the Trump administration, the goal is to deport at least 3,000 individuals per day. This would translate to roughly 1.1 million removals per year.

However, internal estimates suggest that over 20 million illegal aliens entered or remained in the country under the Biden-Harris administration, underscoring the scale of the challenge.

To meet those numbers, sources inside DHS say the daily deportation rate would need to increase significantly — possibly surpassing 10,000 removals per day — to match the expectations of voters following the 2024 election.

Enforcement efforts continue to face resistance in cities with sanctuary policies. Federal officials have called for stronger legal consequences for individuals who obstruct ICE operations or provide safe harbor to those evading deportation.

In Massachusetts, Worcester City Councilwoman Etel Haxhiaj was charged this week after reportedly inciting a crowd to prevent ICE officers from detaining an individual accused of assaulting a pregnant woman.

Authorities say she also assaulted a law enforcement officer during the incident.

In a separate case last month, U.S. Rep. LaMonica McIver was charged after a physical altercation with federal agents during an immigration enforcement operation.

While both incidents have led to charges, officials at the Department of Justice face increasing pressure to pursue legal action against other public officials and activists who obstruct federal law enforcement.

The White House has not commented on the specific cases but has signaled it expects full cooperation with federal immigration authorities from all jurisdictions receiving federal funding.

ICE has stated it will continue aggressive enforcement measures nationwide, especially in jurisdictions with known sanctuary policies, and has vowed to maintain a high operational tempo throughout the summer.
