Illegal Alien Lunges at Prosecutor with Knife in New York After ‘Throat Cutting Gestures’ [WATCH]

An illegal immigrant from El Salvador has been arrested after allegedly threatening to kill a federal prosecutor with a knife outside a hotel near the New York State Capitol, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Saul Morales-Garcia, reportedly lunged at John Sarcone, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York, while brandishing a knife and making slashing motions across his throat.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple confirmed that Morales-Garcia is in the country illegally and had previously been deported. The sheriff’s office took the suspect into custody following the altercation.

Sarcone described the events in detail to the Albany Times-Union, saying he was outside smoking a cigar near the Hilton when he noticed Morales-Garcia nearby.

“I got my eye on him, then I turn back and I’m in front of the Hilton, and I’m just standing there, and I’m looking at him,” Sarcone said. “He then starts yelling at me in his language that I don’t understand.”

According to Sarcone, Morales-Garcia then pulled a knife and lunged toward him.

“He pulls the knife. He’s lunging towards me, and I’m still standing there with the cigar.”

Sarcone retreated into the hotel and alerted Sheriff Apple. After briefly returning outside, he saw the suspect again. “I didn’t want him to get away, and I yelled out at him,” Sarcone said.

“He turns around, and he starts yelling again… and then he pulls the knife out, and then there’s this [gesture] across his throat… and then comes at me again, and I ran back towards the hotel.”

Deputies arrived shortly after and apprehended the suspect.

Morales-Garcia has a lengthy criminal history. He was deported in 2010 but illegally reentered the country. In May 2024, he was charged with retail theft in Pennsylvania.

In December 2023, U.S. Park Police in Virginia arrested him for public intoxication and physically threatening behavior. He also has a drunk driving conviction in Georgia, along with an active arrest warrant in the state dating back to May 2022.

Sheriff Apple confirmed that Morales-Garcia remains in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility.
