Questions of treason cropped up after a Democrat in Illinois became the latest elected official coaching illegal aliens on how to evade federal law enforcement.
After posturing at length about no one being above the law while drumming up claims about their political rivals’ attempts to thwart or circumvent justice, leftists once again appeared to be committing the same sins they’ve attributed to the right.
This time, while referring to President Donald Trump’s plans to dispatch federal resources to aid in restoring law and order to Chicago as he had in Washington, D.C., as an “invasion,” Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton (D) openly promoted resources for aliens to use, coaching them on interacting with immigration enforcement.
“If you or someone you love aren’t sure what resources exist for immigrants in our state, I want you to go to illinoisimmigrationinfo.org … On the front page, there’s a red button that says, ‘Learn Your Rights,’ that takes you to a complete ‘Know Your Rights’ toolkit where you can access specific guidance for different scenarios,” explained Stratton, who then highlighted another link to seek legal aid. “If you or someone you know needs an immigration lawyer, this page has resources for finding representation.”

The lieutenant governor went on to detail how the website, “also offers a family emergency plan template, so you and your family can make a plan together before anything happens. And if you do end up facing an immigration emergency, call the Family Support Network hotline … There are translation services available and people ready to help.”
“Our goal is not to scare anyone, but to prepare everyone to face some ugly realities in the coming days,” she added.
As it happened, the Illinois Immigration Info site, which featured scenarios on what to do if you encounter U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), are detained or run into ICE at Immigration Court, directed visitors to the National Immigrant Justice Center, a nonprofit organization that indicated in its tax filing for the year ending June 2024 that it received over $2.6 million in government grants.
Stratton’s push to protect illegal aliens came as the Trump administration’s Justice Department filed suit against her state, Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D), Attorney General Kwame Raoul (D), and other officials on Tuesday for allegedly providing in-state tuition and scholarships to illegals in direct conflict with federal law.
It also followed allegations that were brought against New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D) earlier in the year for similarly disregarding the law to coach illegal aliens on how to avoid being deported amid mass efforts to restore national sovereignty.
Reactions to Stratton’s remarks not only called for her to be arrested, contending that she was potentially, at the least, obstructing law enforcement, but they also argued she may be guilty of “aiding and abetting” illegal aliens and alleged she was committing treason.
