INGERSOLL: A More Perfect Moment Doesn’t Exist

A MORE PERFECT MOMENT DOESN’T EXIST

Before a homegrown Muslim jihadist threw a homemade bomb over his head with perfect timing, Walter Masterson was better known as a comedian who did mostly forgettable satirical man-on-the-street videos.

The targets of these videos were more often than not people coded right wing. He “trolled” (See: Interrupted by shouting lame jokes) Moms for Liberty and other conservative events. He made fun of “forced birthers” – what he calls anti abortion activists – at a protest. After Nick Shirley went viral for his investigation of Somali daycares, Masterson did a mocking satirical video about the Catholic Church hiding children and paying no taxes.

These public auditions for the Daily Show do modest numbers on YouTube and he probably makes a decent living with the shtick. Not enough to really live well in NYC, but enough to be at least locally known.

I wonder how feels about the thing that is mostly likely to get him that fabled 15 minutes of fame nationally?

Over the weekend, two radicalized Muslim youths attacked an anti-immigration protest outside Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s residence. Walter Masterson was there likely intending to lampoon the anti-immigration side. The jihadi teenagers interrupted Masterson’s open borders spiel to throw two homemade bombs covered in shrapnel-causing metal and made of TATP, an explosive referred to lovingly by jihadists as “Mother of Satan.”

It was a miracle the bombs didn’t explode. Law enforcement officials who have since analyzed the bombs said it’s a miracle they didn’t kill or maim dozens of people. The explosive is so volatile it’s been known to ignite from impact alone.

Masterson continued the X thread by blaming white supremacy and doubling down on open borders, which is both typical and expected.

Even when a jihadist almost blows you to bits as you’re in mid sentence “welcoming” barbarian hordes, you still don’t see the truth.

Can a more perfect encapsulation of the liberal worldview followed by its immediate effect ever exist? Probably not.

Investigators have since raided the homes associated with the bombers – named in reports as Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, and Emir Balat, 18. They both lived in upscale neighborhoods in suburban Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They’re beginning to think the teens were radicalized online, “watching ISIS videos.”

Probably in school too, eh?

As I covered recently with Radical White Girl Final Boss Calla Walsh, the domestic extremism and suicidal empathy pipeline in America run directly through upper-middle class, white collar neighborhoods and into the highest echelons of secondary education and academia.

We don’t know much about the families yet, whether they immigrated here, what they do for a living. Nor about the boys, where they got educated, if and where they intended to go to college.

My sense is that perfect moment on the street is about to come into even more focus. It won’t look good for the Mastersons of the world.
