INSIDER: Dems’ Trump-Epstein flimflam is running on fumes of desperation

When left-wing propaganda organ The Daily Beast was forced to retract and apologize for a story featuring a sensationalist claim to hustle a hoax linking President Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, it was yet another blow to the Democrats’ already flailing summer hoax.

The outlet had to swallow a good-sized helping of crow to well-deserved mockery for its poor judgment in boosting an allegation from renowned fabulist Michael Wolff that first lady Melania Trump was introduced to her husband by a modeling agent who was connected to the deceased pervert and convicted sex trafficker, and that Epstein knew her well.

Soon after publication, the story was taken down and replaced with an editor’s note after Mrs. Trump’s attorney contacted The Daily Beast and likely advised them that they stood to be sued into bankruptcy if they persisted in pushing Wolff’s latest scam.

It was yet another discredited smear job that only makes it all the more obvious that desperate and unprincipled Democrats are dishonestly manufacturing another fake narrative and this time, stretching credulity by expecting the public to believe somehow that after years of not giving a rat’s patootie about the depraved Bill Clinton buddy and his sexual blackmail operations, that they suddenly are the ones wanting the truth.

The truth is that their little operation was already running on fumes with their lies failing to impress the American people. The stench of desperation is just pouring off of Democrats this week as they scrape the bottom of the barrel to concoct a conspiracy out of a Justice Department memo that found there was no proof of a “client list” or that there was “credible evidence” that Epstein was blackmailing people of influence.

Not helping was the administration’s botched response after Attorney General Pam Bondi greatly oversold the Epstein Files and Trump himself, who raged at many in MAGA for not swallowing the government’s account, giving the story oxygen in the early stages and inspiring Democrats to exploit the issue to splinter the president’s base.

But Trump was once again right that it was all a hoax, and the Democrats themselves have done much to prove his point with a series of flimsy hit pieces, the dredging up of old accusations by sketchy individuals, and in CNN’s case, publishing old pics of Trump and Epstein – who both swam in upper echelon circles – at New York social events.

With the hoax still failing to catch fire after weeks, slimy Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer whipped out an arcane, century-old rule to try to force the DOJ to release the files.

“This morning, I join all of my Democratic colleagues on the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee in invoking a century-old law known as the ‘Rule of Five’ to compel the Department of Justice to release the full and complete Epstein files, which to date, of course, they have refused to be transparent about,” Schumer said. “Under federal law, when any five senators on the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee call on the executive branch to release investigative documents, they must comply.”

It’s unlikely the DOJ will comply with such a brazen bad-faith effort to force compliance with the five committee members all being Democrats. It could be headed to court.

Then on Friday, Schumer’s cadaverous colleague Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) followed up his silly YouTube presentation on Trump and Epstein by alleging that the administration is engaging in “witness tampering” over the reported moving of Epstein’s madame, Ghislaine Maxwell, to a minimum-security women’s prison as she haggles for a deal to spill her guts.

The ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, Wyden, should have the accounting acumen to understand sunk costs, and that’s what their investment in the Trump-Epstein relationship narrative already is, with their antics only becoming more desperate, the fake news more obvious, and the American people greeting all of it with a collective ho-hum. It’s time for them to cut their losses.

Luckily for Democrats, Friday’s miserable jobs numbers – which were cooked by a Biden holdover – provide them a convenient excuse to jump out of the Epstein clown car while they still can, but they’re probably only going to continue to careen at high speed toward the edge of a cliff.
