Gavin Newsom may be getting all the love right now, but it’s hard to see Democrats lining up behind a man who is as authentic as a hunk of cheap Velveeta cheese as their great white hope.
Other than his repellent personality and disastrous record in California, the deal-killer for the trash-talking governor in a party steeped in anti-whiteness is his skin color, and Democrats have had their stealthy “New Obama” waiting in the wings.
But Maryland Governor Wes Moore, a charismatic combat veteran who has earned raves from the likes of activist actor George Clooney, may have had his White House run blown up by President Donald J. Trump before it even gets out of the gates.
Moore appears to have made a grave miscalculation by jumping into the resistance against Trump’s bold move to deploy the National Guard to the streets of Washington, D.C., a city that punches far above its weight class when it comes to violent crime, packing more murders, assaults, shootings, rapes, and carjackings into an area far smaller than many other Democrat-run cities with similar crime problems.
The governor seemed to suggest that his state’s largest city was a safe environment and invited Trump to take a stroll with him through the mean streets of Baltimore, until last year widely understood to be among the most dangerous in the nation, but like other blue cites, has seen a miraculous dropoff in crime, amost certainly attibutable to cooked statistics and a media which is eager to propagandize on behalf of the party.

In a Sunday morning heat-seeking missile launched from Truth Social, the president responded to Moore’s bid to edge out his California counterpart as the head of the anti-Trump resistance.
“Governor Wes Moore of Maryland has asked, in a rather nasty and provocative tone, that I ‘walk the streets of Maryland’ with him. I assume he is talking about out of control, crime ridden, Baltimore?” Trump said. “As President, I would much prefer that he clean up this Crime disaster before I go there for a ‘walk. Wes Moore’s record on Crime is a very bad one, unless he fudges his figures on crime like many of the other ‘Blue States’ are doing.”
HOLY CRAP! President Trump just absolutely nuked Maryland Governor Wes Moore, THREATENS federal funding due to his lack of a crime crackdown
“Stop talking and get to work, Wes. I’ll then see you on the streets!!”

“But if Wes Moore needs help, like Gavin Newscum did in L.A., I will send in the ‘troops,’ which is being done in nearby DC, and quickly clean up the Crime,” Trump added. “After only one week, there is NO CRIME AND NO MURDER IN DC! When it is like that in Baltimore, I will proudly ‘walk the streets’ with the failing, because of Crime, Governor of Maryland,” he continued.
“P.S. Baltimore is ranked the 4th WORST CITY IN THE NATION IN CRIME & MURDER. Stop talking and get to work, Wes. I’ll then see you on the streets!!!” Trump concluded, suggesting that he could claw back some of the federal money doled out to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which collapsed into Baltimore Harbor after it was hit by an errant vessel last year.
Then, for good measure, Trump dropped another bomb on Moore, drawing attention to his false claim that he was awarded the Bronze Star, one of the military’s highest honors, a preemptive strike on the Democrats seeking to hype his military record for the coming presidential campaign.
There will be the inevitable pushback, but it’s going to be much more difficult now because one of the top Democrat propaganda organs, the New York Times, has already documented the former Army officer’s stolen valor.

“He made the claim on an application for a prestigious White House fellowship in 2006, when he was 27 years old, according to a copy of the document that was obtained this week by The New York Times as part of a Freedom of Information Act request,” according to the paper. “For my work,” he wrote, “the 82nd Airborne Division have awarded me the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Action Badge.”
“An image of one paragraph from Wes Moore’s 2006 application for a White House fellowship, in which he says he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
However, when Mr. Moore submitted the application in January 2006, he had not been awarded either the Bronze Star or the Combat Action Badge. He was awarded the badge in May 2006 for an episode the previous December, but there is no record showing that he ever received a Bronze Star, an Army spokeswoman said,” the Times reported.
The spin will be that Trump is the one who’s lying and that Moore DID receive a Bronze Star, but it wasn’t until 2024, after the falsehood became a political problem for the “rising Democratic star,” and he was given the medal retroactively after the story broke.
But let the record be clear, he lied about it first.
Moore’s response to Trump? Dodge the truth and hide behind Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump is doing everything in his power to distract from the Epstein files. Really makes you wonder…

Democratic candidates have consistently had a problem with misrepresenting their military service. Last year, it was Harris’ goofy white sidekick Tim Walz, and two decades earlier, it was John “Swift Boat” Kerry.
Moore’s engagement with Trump is clearly calculated, and he was chatted up by Deep State mouthpiece Margaret Brennan on CBS’s “Face The Nation” on Sunday morning, putting himself front and center into the Democrat efforts to further racially gerrymander states in advance of next year’s midterm elections to make up for their growing voter registration shortfall.
“I want to make sure we have fair lines and fair seats”: Maryland governor Wes Moore (@GovWesMoore) told “Face the Nation’s” @margbrennan that “all options are on the table” regarding redistricting in Maryland, which currently has one Republican in its congressional delegation. pic.twitter.com/YCjljamtNl

Democrats have been desperate to rekindle that old black magic that dissipated when Barack Obama’s second term ended, and will surely look to Moore after allowing the absurd Newsom to act as a placeholder. But Trump may have already spoiled their plans.
