INSIDER: Will the Democrats cancel Kilmar?

It’s now apparent to anyone with an iota of common sense that the Democrats made a monumental strategic blunder by making deported illegal alien thug Kilmar Abrego Garcia into the new face of their Trump resistance movement.

The elevation of Abrego Garcia into a civil rights martyr has blown up spectacularly as documents and video were made public last week, showing that the Trump administration and Republicans were absolutely right about the rotten character of the so-called “Maryland man” who Democrats have insisted is an innocent victim of an oppressive white supremacist government.

Even though both law enforcement and judges have determined the foreign national to be a member of MS-13, a ruthless gang that the U.S. government has officially designated as a terrorist organization, Abrego Garcia has received overwhelmingly favorable coverage from the media and his deportation along with more than 200 other criminals to the high security CECOT prison has been a rallying cry for Democrats who are demanding that he be returned.

A high profile trip to meet with him by Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and later four more Democrat lawmakers may end up being the high water mark of his support because its going to be exponentially more difficult to make a case after bodycam video of an interaction with law enforcement was released last week, making a pretty good circumstantial case that Abrego Garcia is a human trafficker.

There’s also more evidence that he’s far from the happy-go-lucky loving husband and dad that Democrats and their mouthpieces have been insisting that he is.

“The fact that they went to the mat for this guy just shows exactly who they are,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said during a weekend Fox News appearance. “That they are people who don’t put America first. They don’t care about our citizens or protecting our communities. So, I’m glad that the onion’s been peeled back and that their true motivations have been revealed, and this is just one of the cases that we’re getting off the streets.”

The futility of trying to put a halo over his head is becoming obvious to Dems as they cynically try to repackage their crusade into one being about due process and the rule of law, a real hoot from a party that trampled every single longstanding principle and norm to weaponize the legal system against President Trump and his supporters, with the goal of subjecting them to Soviet-style show trials before locking them all up and throwing away the key.

The congressional junkets to demand that the El Salvadoran government release their hero have stopped – at least for now – after it dawned on leadership that elected lawmakers sucking down “margaritas” with a known gang banger isn’t exactly a winner when it comes to optics.

As it sits now, he’s their brand, and that’s only going to be reinforced the longer that they insist on defending him.

The polls must have been frightening because even grandstanding windbag Cory Booker has seemingly called off his expected trip, a testament to Garcia’s toxicity and the American people’s overwhelming desire to kick the foreign predators out of the country, no matter how much the media wants them to stay.

Democrats would be well-advised to just cancel Kilmar and forget all about him as soon as possible and the drop off in yapping could be an indication that they fear something even more damning than spousal abuse and human smuggling about their biggest hero since George Floyd could come out.

Will they do it? Or are they already in too deep?
