Iran’s De Facto Leaders, Top Enforcers Taken Off the Board by Israeli Airstrikes [WATCH]

A series of Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran’s leadership structure has reportedly resulted in the deaths of key figures within the regime, according to reporting from Trey Yingst.

“According to Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, top Iranian official, Ali Larijani, is dead,” Yingst said.

“He was killed in a strike overnight, according to Israel’s defense minister, this was probably the most significant strike you could describe it in the past week and a half, as the Israelis and the Americans are going after the structure of Iran’s regime.”

Yingst reported that Ali Larijani had been viewed as a central figure within Iran’s leadership following the death of the country’s former supreme leader.

“Larijani was largely considered the de facto leader in the aftermath of the killing of Iran’s former supreme leader and uncertain questions about Mustafa Heilman aye, the man who was elected to be the next Supreme Leader,” he said.

Larijani was serving as secretary to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council at the time of his reported death.

Yingst also reported that a separate Israeli strike targeted another senior Iranian official connected to internal security operations.

“I can also report overnight, the Israelis, in a separate strike, killed the top commander of Iran’s Basij forces,” he said.

The Basij is a paramilitary branch of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and Yingst identified the commander as Gholamreza Soleimani.

“This is a wing of the IRGC. His name is Gholamreza Soleimani, and he was responsible for commanding the crackdown on protesters earlier this year across Iran,” Yingst said.

He added that the strike may have resulted in additional casualties among Iranian officials.

“An official tells me this morning that over a dozen besieged officials were with him when that strike took place, taking out this top commander,” Yingst said.

The reported strikes are part of a broader campaign involving coordinated military activity.

“It comes as the Israelis have launched a series of air strikes alongside their American counterparts across Iran over the past 24 hours,” Yingst said.

Footage released by the Israel Defense Forces shows the scale of the operations.

“You can see some of these strikes on Sunday this new video released by the IDF,” Yingst said.

According to Yingst, the pace of operations is expected to continue.

“They are expected to intensify and increase in the hours and days ahead,” he said.
