President Donald Trump on Friday issued a direct warning to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stating that if Tehran resumes uranium enrichment to levels of concern, the United States is prepared to carry out additional airstrikes.
Speaking to reporters during a rare appearance in the White House briefing room, President Trump said he told Khamenei, “Look, you’re a man of great faith, a man who is highly respected in his country, you have to tell the truth. You got beat to hell.”
The comment was made in response to Khamenei’s claim that Iran was “victorious” in the recent 12-day conflict with Israel and the United States.

“The last thing they’re thinking about is nuclear weapons right now,” Trump said.
The president was referring to the aftermath of coordinated U.S. and Israeli airstrikes that targeted three of Iran’s nuclear sites, which were struck over the weekend.
The military operation followed Iran’s continued threats and missile launches during the broader regional conflict.
On Saturday, U.S. B-2 bombers reportedly led the operation that destroyed the nuclear facilities.

Following his remarks at the White House, Trump expanded on his message in a post on Truth Social, asserting that he had personally intervened to prevent the conflict from escalating further and saved Khamenei’s life.
“As a man of great faith, he is not supposed to lie. His Country was decimated, his three evil Nuclear Sites were OBLITERATED, and I knew EXACTLY where he was sheltered, and would not let Israel, or the U.S. Armed Forces, by far the Greatest and Most Powerful in the World, terminate his life,” Trump wrote.
“I SAVED HIM FROM A VERY UGLY AND IGNOMINIOUS DEATH, and he does not have to say, ‘THANK YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP!’ In fact, in the final act of the War, I demanded that Israel bring back a very large group of planes, which were heading directly to Tehran, looking for a big day, perhaps the final knockout!”
Trump also revealed that he had been considering the removal of certain sanctions on Iran as part of broader recovery efforts.
However, he said those considerations have now been suspended.
“During the last few days, I was working on the possible removal of sanctions, and other things, which would have given a much better chance to Iran at a full, fast, and complete recovery – The sanctions are BITING! But no, instead I get hit with a statement of anger, hatred, and disgust, and immediately dropped all work on sanction relief, and more,” the president wrote.
“Iran has to get back into the World Order flow, or things will only get worse for them.”

Ayatollah Khamenei, who has led Iran since 1989, claimed on Thursday that Iran emerged victorious from the conflict, despite multiple setbacks.
“The Islamic Republic was victorious and, in retaliation, delivered a hand slap to America’s face,” Khamenei wrote on X.
He was referring to a symbolic missile launch on Monday, when 14 rockets were fired at a U.S. base in Qatar.
All of the missiles were intercepted, due in part to advance notice from Tehran.
A cease-fire agreement was reached hours after the failed missile attack.
The situation remains tense, with President Trump warning that any renewed enrichment of uranium by Iran will be met with force.
The administration has not indicated a specific threshold that would trigger additional military action, but Trump’s statements suggest that the United States remains on alert and ready to act.
