Israel Assassinates Multiple High-Ranking Iranian Officials – The American Spectator | USA News and PoliticsThe American Spectator

Video has shown multiple explosions across Iran following Israel’s preemptive strike on command centers and nuclear facilities. New airstrikes have hit Shiraz and Tabriz, allegedly targeting the international airport in Tabriz.

Multiple high-ranking Iranian scientists and officials were killed in the airstrikes. Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the chief of staff of the Iranian army, was killed in the attack. Bagheri has been replaced by Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, an appointment by Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei.

Israel targeted multiple officials and scientists in residential strikes, including military complexes. This included General Hossein Salami, who commanded the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and was killed in a strike on Tehran.

These highly targeted attacks represent the technological sophistication of Israel’s intelligence apparatus and military.

Major General Gholam Ali Rashid, a deputy chief of staff and head of Khatam-al Anbiya HQ, was killed. Additionally, six nuclear scientists were killed, including Fereydoon Abbasi, the former head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization and a top-ranking nuclear official. (RELATED: Obama Trusted Iran — Israel Didn’t)

Even the adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, Ali Shamkhani, was reported critically injured and then dead.

In response to the multiple attacks, Khamenei said that the “Zionist regime” of Israel has incurred a “bitter and painful fate” for the attacks on Iran, and that “The strong hand of the Islamic Republic will not let them go.”

The response by Iran has been greatly halted due to multiple officials being killed, but Iran has begun returning fire. Multiple rockets have been shot down over Tel Aviv by Israel’s Iron Dome, with a few striking in the city.
