Jack Elsom is The Sun’s new political editor, announced in an all-staff email obtained by Guido. Of huge interest to the Lobby of course…
“Dear all,
I am delighted to announce changes to the Sun’s political team, which continues to lead the way in breaking stories and providing the best coverage from Westminster.
Congratulations to Jack Elsom, who replaces Harry Cole as Political Editor, The Sun.
In addition to his role as Deputy Political Editor, Ryan Sabey will also take on a new job as The Sun’s Economics Editor.
Kate Ferguson, Political Editor of the Sun on Sunday, will now also lead The Sun’s broadcasting content. She will take charge of our groundbreaking Never Mind the Ballots show, and continue to innovate and drive forward our digital offering.
The brilliant team is completed by our Political Correspondents Sophia Sleigh, Noa Hoffman and Martina Bet.
Harry leaves big shoes to fill as he heads to the US, but I’m excited by the huge potential of the new team, which can take our coverage of politics from strength to strength. These are exciting and unpredictable times at Westminster. The Sun will be in the thick of it, breaking stories, sticking up for our readers and holding the politicians to account every day.
From next week, we will also be launching a new Sun Money Daily page, in place of Sun Business. Led by Tara Evans and her award-winning consumer team, it will cover all the latest news on the businesses and consumer issues which matter most to Sun readers.
