Jasmine Crockett Cries Racism Following JD Vance Speech at AmericaFest [WATCH]

Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas accused Vice President of the United States J.D. Vance of racism after remarks he made during a speech at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest event on Sunday, where he referenced Crockett and her potential U.S. Senate ambitions, as reported by The Gatweay Pundit.

Vice President J.D. Vance addressed a range of political topics while speaking at the annual conservative conference, which draws activists, students, and elected officials from across the country.

During his remarks, Vance mentioned Crockett by name while discussing Texas politics.

“And Jasmine Crockett,” Vance said. “Oh, Jasmine Crockett … The record speaks for itself. She wants to be a senator. Though her street-girl persona is about as real as her nails.”

Crockett, who represents a Dallas-area congressional district, responded publicly later that day during an appearance on Weekend Primetime on MS NOW. Weekend Primetime aired her comments shortly after Vance’s speech concluded.

“I have been a black woman my entire life,” Crockett said. “I promise you, there are other people, just like J.D. Vance, who have tried to do the same racist tropes my entire life, and somehow, I ascended and became a U.S. congresswoman.”

Crockett framed Vance’s remarks as racially motivated and said similar criticism has followed her throughout her career. She did not announce any formal action in response to the comments.

Crockett has been publicly exploring a bid for the U.S. Senate in Texas, a statewide race that would require appealing to voters beyond the deep-blue district she currently represents.

Her House seat includes parts of Dallas, a reliably Democratic area. A statewide contest would place her before a significantly broader electorate.

Vice President Vance’s comments were made at AmericaFest, the annual conference hosted by Turning Point USA, which has become a major gathering for conservative activists and political figures.

Vance was not addressing Crockett as a political opponent, nor is he involved in the Texas Senate race.

Crockett has also been active on social media following the remarks, posting reactions and commentary related to the exchange.

She has not released additional statements elaborating on her Senate plans in direct connection with the AmericaFest speech.

Some political observers have questioned the viability of Crockett’s statewide ambitions. Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville has previously expressed skepticism about her ability to mount a successful Senate campaign in Texas.

Crockett has also been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, frequently referencing him in campaign messaging and public appearances.

The exchange between Crockett and Vance highlights the growing political tensions as Democrats and Republicans position themselves ahead of future election cycles.

Crockett has not indicated whether she plans to further address the remarks beyond her televised response.
