Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett insisted on MSNBC Wednesday that she isn’t a conspiracy theorist — but her own words tell a different story.
In an appearance on “Deadline: White House,” Crockett denied being a conspiracy theorist.
Crockett said Jeffrey Epstein set up a sham company to abuse women while on work release in Florida in 2008. She added that his network included fake immigration records for girls from Russia and Ukraine. She also implicated accountants, banks, and lawyers.
“I’ve never been a conspiracy theorist ever in my life. OK. No silver tin hat here. OK, sis,” Crockett said. “But I’m going to tell you that as I sat and listened to these women, as someone who’s been in courtrooms and, frankly, has reviewed my fair share of discovery in cases because I have represented on the defense side, people of cues of similar acts. This is next level. The levels to this is absolutely insane. And we’re not talking about the things that he’s espousing to clean our cities of these low level criminals.”
Crockett launched into a sprawling account about Epstein’s 2008 incarceration. She said Epstein allegedly continued to abuse women even under official supervision.

“There was a story of a young lady who ended up encountering Epstein as he was incarcerated in 2008 in Florida because he set up a sham company, and he was able to then be on work release to his sham company. And while on work release, meaning that he was absolutely being monitored, but he wasn’t, he was still abusing women,” Crockett said. “That is the level we’re talking about, them doing fake immigration documents and getting girls from Russia, from Ukraine. Obviously we knew that there were international implications. They also talked about Israel and this, like they implicated. It’s like the banks, the accountants, the lawyers. It is insane.”
Crockett claims she is no conspiracy theorist. But her statements from earlier this year alone seem to contradict that position. In an interview with comedian Hasan Minhaj, Crockett floated a theory that President Donald Trump faced multiple assassination attempts from his own supporters, a claim offered without evidence. Crockett later vowed to launch an impeachment inquiry if Democrats win back power, tying it to Elon Musk’s supposed work for the Department of Government Efficiency and Trump’s legal battles with Harvard and law firms. Former CNN host Jim Acosta warned Crockett that Trump might have her arrested and she said his fear was justified, a claim that fits the same pattern of exaggeration and double standards she displayed when slamming Texas’ “racist” maps while praising California’s gerrymander.
