JD Vance Just Dropped the Mic on the Minneapolis Mayhem [WATCH]

Vice President of the United States JD Vance accused Minneapolis authorities of actively obstructing Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations, arguing that local officials are creating chaos by refusing to cooperate with federal immigration agents and undermining public safety.

Vance said recent unrest in Minneapolis is not the result of ICE enforcement itself, but rather the actions of local leaders who, he said, are preventing federal agents from doing their jobs.

“United States of America, and you don’t see the same level of chaos in Minneapolis,” Vance said.

“The natural conclusion is that it’s not what ICE is doing in Minneapolis. It’s what Minneapolis authorities are doing to prevent ICE from doing their jobs, and that’s exactly what’s happening.”

Vance cited specific examples involving the arrest of illegal alien sex offenders, saying ICE agents have repeatedly faced obstacles because local authorities refuse to share basic information needed to carry out deportations safely.

“So let me give you just a couple of very real world examples of some of the problems that we face,” Vance said.

“So let’s say you have a sex offender. We’ve arrested a number of sex offender illegal aliens in Minneapolis just in the last couple of months, but that person, because they’re an illegal alien, we don’t know where they live. We don’t know their address.”

According to Vance, cooperation from local law enforcement would allow ICE to operate more effectively and with greater safety for both officers and the public.

“If local authorities were cooperating with us, it would be easier to send an ICE agents to the person’s house to arrest them, to have local law enforcement protecting our immigration officers,” Vance said.

“They throw the sex offender in the back of a car, deport that person, throw them in jail, whatever, and then they go home safely to their families.”

Vance said that is not what is happening in Minneapolis. Instead, he accused local officials of withholding information that could help remove dangerous individuals from the community.

“That’s not what’s happening,” Vance said.

“What’s happening instead is that the Minneapolis authorities are refusing to tell us where that sex offender lives. Why are they protecting sex offenders? That’s anybody’s guess, but it’s crazy.”

Vance also criticized city leadership for instructing local police not to assist ICE during enforcement operations or related disturbances, saying that decision has made an already tense situation worse.

“Meanwhile, the local police are being told by the mayor, don’t help them,” Vance said.

“So if there are protests, and there are people trying to not just protest but interfere with what ICE is doing, we don’t have the support of local law enforcement to keep the peace.”

He argued that the lack of coordination leaves ICE agents exposed and limits their ability to enforce federal law while maintaining order during protests or enforcement actions.

Vance said his calls for “lowering the temperature” are aimed squarely at local officials, whom he said have the power to reduce conflict by cooperating with federal authorities.

“So when I talk about lowering the temperature, those are the two things that we want those local authorities to do,” Vance said.
