Jeane Margaret Hargrove was born in Ilford, Essex, on 8 April 1932, the eldest daughter of two. The home was not a happy home, but the Lord always had his hand on Jeane.
She went to a Methodist church and sang in the choir. She was an avid student, loving geography, history, literature, and art. Aged 15, Jeane went to live with her maternal aunties as the family unit broke down.
In post-war Britian, she needed to fend for herself and laid her studies to one side. Aged 17, Jeane was invited to Hildenborough Hall, and under the preaching of Tom Rees gave her life to the Lord.
