Jen Psaki claims she ‘never saw’ Biden decline

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki wants Americans to believe that she had no idea that former President Joe Biden was in mental decline.

In a new interview on Semafor’s Mixed Signals podcast, Psaki claims she “never saw” the Biden that the United States witnessed take the debate stage against President Donald Trump.

“I never saw that person —not a single time, and I was in the Oval Office every day, that was on that debate stage,” she said.

“I’m not a doctor. Aging happens quite quickly,” Psaki added. At another point in the podcast, she discouraged the use of the term “cover-up” in regards to the party leaders and media refusing to truthfully cover the severity of the president’s mental condition.

“‘Cover-up’ is a very loaded term. People use that term as related to Watergate. Or the covering up of not sharing public information about a war,” she said. “I think it’s a bit of a dangerous term.”

The current MSNBC host also wasn’t about to criticize the media for refusing to question what was going on with Biden, despite the fact that voters everywhere had already been asking questions about things they’d seen themselves.

“Maybe the media missed a lot,” she noted, adding that it is always easy to play Monday-morning quarterback when it comes to coverage. “There were major stories and moments missed.”

She also offered one reason why there may have been significant hesitation to cover concerns regarding the president’s health.

“While we know there were problematic things behind-the-scenes now in 2023 and 2024, there was an aggressive all-out pitching operation from the right-wing and from the Republicans about Joe Biden’s age and how he was in decline….the majority of which wasn’t true, in 2019-2022,” blaming conservatives for their now-justified worries that Biden wasn’t fit.
